The same years of teaching can't count toward both programs. Using Teacher Loan Forgiveness first pushes PSLF back about five years.
New PSLF rules took effect July 1, 2026, changing how qualifying employers are defined. Public school districts still qualify.
The SAVE repayment plan has ended. Make sure your current plan counts toward PSLF.
